1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the AurorIQ website at auroriq.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Description of the Service
AurorIQ provides a free, browser-based IQ estimation tool and educational content about intelligence and cognitive science. The IQ score produced by the AurorIQ test is an estimate — a statistically-derived approximation of general cognitive ability based on your performance on a set of adaptive reasoning tasks.
AurorIQ scores are not clinical assessments and cannot be used as substitutes for formal psychometric evaluation by a licensed professional.
In particular, AurorIQ scores are not valid for: Mensa membership applications, educational placement decisions, disability assessments, employment screening, or any legal or medical purpose.
3. Disclaimers about test results
You acknowledge and agree that:
- The AurorIQ IQ score is a statistical estimate with a confidence interval, not a precise measurement of a fixed cognitive trait.
- IQ scores can vary based on testing conditions, mood, fatigue, distractions, and familiarity with test formats. A single result on a single day is not definitive.
- AurorIQ scores should not be used to make significant decisions about your career, education, or wellbeing without independent professional assessment.
- The test is designed for adults. Results for users under 18 may be less accurate due to developmental factors and age-norming limitations of online tests.
- No online IQ test, including AurorIQ, can replicate the diagnostic accuracy of a clinically administered assessment such as the WAIS-IV or Stanford-Binet 5.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or extract the test questions, scoring algorithms, or proprietary methodologies used by AurorIQ.
- Automate access to the Service (e.g. via bots or scrapers) without our written consent.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person.
- Misrepresent your AurorIQ score in any context where accuracy matters — for example, claiming it as a clinical IQ score or using it in a professional application.
- Attempt to circumvent or manipulate the test to achieve a higher score, then share that score as representative of your genuine ability.
- Interfere with the proper working of the Service, including through technical attacks.

7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AurorIQ and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
This includes, without limitation, damages resulting from decisions you make based on your AurorIQ score. IQ scores from online tests should not be the basis of significant personal, educational, or professional decisions without independent verification.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Mental health and wellbeing
IQ scores can provoke strong emotional reactions. If you receive a result that distresses you, please remember that:
- Online IQ tests are imprecise. Your score has a confidence interval of approximately ±10 points. A single session on a single day is not a definitive measurement.
- IQ is one measure of one set of abilities. It does not measure your worth, your potential, or your capacity to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life.
- If you are experiencing distress related to your cognitive abilities or self-image, please speak with a mental health professional.
9. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms continue in full force and effect.
11. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AurorIQ regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
